Tracker delivers first two-way wireless Internet communication and management solution for towers

Cleveland, OH - Tracker Management Systems, Inc., a leading provider of dispatch and management information systems, has developed and installed an integrated two-way wireless communication system for towers. Tracker is the first company to integrate a towing management and dispatch system with advanced communications technology from @Road (Nasdaq: ARDI), a provider of location-enhanced wireless Internet solutions for mobile resource management (MRM).

Now, companies using Tracker 2000 for Windows towing dispatch and management software can monitor the location of vehicles and send and receive two-way text messages right from the dispatch screen in the office, according to Jim Weaver, Tracker Management president. Data sent from @Road mobile data terminals in towing vehicles will instantly flow in to appropriate forms in the Tracker software, including invoices and driver commission reports.

“With the seamless integration of @Road’s location and messaging capabilities into our service, drivers can now enter job and billing data and send and receive messages with a single system,” Weaver said. “By replacing spoken communication with two-way electronic messaging, towers of all sizes will save time on every tow while greatly reducing costly address and location errors, creating even greater efficiencies.”

Scott’s Towing of Woodbridge and Roselle, NJ, which has used Tracker Management software since 1991, installed the combined Tracker/@Road solution in late 2000. Owner Scott Flowers finds the integration of location, communication/dispatch and management capabilities greatly improves the efficiency of dispatchers and drivers.

“We can pre-set up to 30 single-key messages, such as ‘Assigned,’ ‘Arrived’ and ‘Hooked’ that record every step of a towing service call,” he said. “With constant location monitoring and one-key functional recording, there is almost never a need for audio communication. It is a real enhancement to an already-great management tool.”

Weaver said Tracker "can now offer our towers a complete dispatch and management
system that includes location and enhanced two-way text communication
between the dispatcher and driver."

Tracker Management Systems provides a variety of software-based business management, communications and efficiency solutions for towers.
