Michael Cowpland’s ZIM Technologies Partners in Wireless with Number One U.S. Towing Dispatch System Provider - Tracker Management

Ottawa, Canada - March 22, 2001 - President and CEO of ZIM Technologies International Inc., Dr. Michael Cowpland, today announced ZIM’s first major strategic alliance in wireless with U.S based Tracker Management Systems Inc. The partnership is for the development of a mobile dispatch solution for the North American towing and roadside assistance industry.

“There is great synergy between ZIM’s wireless technology and Tracker’s dispatch and management system,” stated Dr. Cowpland. “With a wireless solution that works through handheld mobile phones, the towing and roadside assistance industry can improve efficiency, speed of service delivery for customers and improve public safety at the same time,” Cowpland continued.

“Wireless is the wave of the future,” commented Al Sosa, owner of Hughes Towing in Orlando, Florida and a Tracker customer. “I see this technology enhancing the way we dispatch and improving services overall.”

ZIM’s technology fills the gap in wireless by enabling critical user-based information to get to the mobile end-users and, in turn, enable users to respond through embedded-response facilities that map back to the enterprise system. The ZIM wireless solution, which includes an ASP (Application Service Provider) model, is capable of mapping the most complex policies, procedure and business rules of any organization in order to meet the needs of the mobile workforce.

"In 15 years in the software development business, I've looked at every application and potential technology I thought would help my customers. ZIM is the first to have what it really takes to handle dispatched communications,” stated Jim Weaver, President of Tracker Management Systems, Inc. “The timing of this alliance could not be any better for us.”

“The towing industry in very competitive,” commented Joey Abrams, Founder of Abrams Towing in Toronto, Ontario. “To be a leader you must be on top of the technology. The next big wave is wireless dispatch. Miss this and you’ll be left behind.”

With the Tracker towing management and information system that includes dispatch, invoicing, reports GPS solutions for real-time truck locating, the addition of wireless will improve the ability of the towing and roadside assistance industry to meet customer needs and be operationally efficient. Tracker 2000 for Windows is the leading dispatch and management system for towing operators. It has been successful in bringing advanced two-way communications from dispatch to drivers and back to the industry, reducing communications errors while greatly increasing per vehicle and per employee efficiencies
